Well, I guess the best way is to start with a little information about myself. I am happily married and have an 18 year old daughter in college who still lives at home.
We live in the west central part of Illinois and as a family we do a lot of hunting and fishing all year long. We both work 3rd shift jobs so we get to spend time together. I am the quilter in my family. My daughter and hubby both help me pick things out and arrange things, they are my "Design Team."
Personally, I am very outgoing and honest. Sometimes that gets me in a little trouble, but you can be sure if you want the truth, that's what you're gonna get. LOL. I am not real fond of crowds of people. Sooo, if you see me at the local superstore on a Friday or Saturday afternoon, TURN AND RUN! :) Just kidding... really... or am i?
Any way, back to quilting. I took my first layoff in January of 2009. My friend was taking a quilting class, but I didn't have enough money to attend. So she would teach me what she learned. My first couple quilts were from the pattern Yellow Brick Road by Atkinson Designs. And I have been hooked ever since. I love to go to quilt shops and visit with the people. I have a Janome 1600 P-QC, and Janome 9500, and will soon have a Tin Lizzie.. *SQUEAL* I am so excited. My husband spoils me so rotten! Byt like he tells me, I bring home a paycheck, too.
Some of my favorite patterns are those with stars in them. A good one to start out with is Lucky Stars by Atkinson Designs (oh, by the way, i am not affiliated with them in any way, I just think they have the best instructions for beginners.)
I like to make and design purses, totes, bags, whatever you like to call them. I sell them to friends and family mostly, but I do more when work allows. And right now I am on layoff again, so you could say work allows now.
Well, time to post some pictures. This first batch will be a little less than professional because I always intended to use them for myself and my facebook page.
